Star Trek: Prodigy toys are on the way this year – and they look fantastic.

Star Trek: Prodigy is the first Trek show geared toward younger audiences. It follows a motley crew of young aliens who must work together to run the USS Protostar, a Starfleet ship they have commandeered, and find a better future.

Along the way they meet characters from across the Star Trek canon, including Spock and a hologram of Captain Janeway, that guide them in their adventures and teach them about Starfleet.

Along with a great story for youngsters, the show’s animation is gorgeous. Each character has something everyone to relate to.

Gwyn is member of the Vau N’ Akat and has long dreamed of exploring the stars. Dal thinks himself a maverick and has unwavering hope. Jankom is a Tellarite who enjoys playing the devil’s advocate. Murf is an indestructible and endearing blob. Zero is a Medusan, the first seen since the original series. And Rok-Tahk is a Brikar who loves animals.
