Warhammer 40K: Tyranid Combat Patrol Pricing Breakdown
The Tyranids are getting a new Combat Patrol and we know what’s in the box — so what’s the pricing going to be? Let’s find out!
Games Workshop’s recent pricing adjustments just went into effect this week. That means a bunch of the old kits went up in price. That also means that the former pricing structures might not be exactly the same any more. We’re in the Wild West of pricing from GW now…or something to that effect. If the Wild West was about a 5% increase of pricing across the board. Now that I write that out, maybe that’s a bad analogy. Oh well — let’s get to the Tyranid Combat Patrol pricing breakdown.
Tyranid Combat Patrol Pricing
1x Hive Tyrant = $60
36x Termagant (with 3 Ripper Swarm Bases) = $35 x 3 = $105
3x Tyranid Warriors = $60
Individual MSRP Total = $225
Combat Patrol Pricing = $150
Estimated Savings = $75
So you might be wondering how or why we’re assuming the Combat Patrol Pricing is $150. Well, that’s the new standard for Games Workshop’s Combat Patrols:
And based on the fact that all the models it the Tyranid Combat Patrol are older kits and the new price point is $150…we’re assuming that’s the new price point, too.
So is this a good deal? Well, back to my scale of Peat, Repeat, or No-Peat this one is a Repeat for me. If I were a new player that is. 36 Termagants, a Hive Tyrant and 3 Warriors is a great core of an army. You could double up on all those units in a Tyranid list very easily. You’ll find a way to include two Tyrants in a list. 6 Warriors is really handy to have around if you need some Synapse. And with 72 Termagants, you’ll be in good shape for a bug horde.
For a new player, that’s more than enough of a core to spread out from. You could get a Tervigon if you want to keep up the carpet of little guys. You could snag some Exocrines for firepower. Or Carnifexes. If you wanted more middle-sized bugs, go with Hive Guard! All of those options would slot right into that core.
If you’re a veteran Tyranid player you probably don’t need more of these models, however. The savings is nice and all but seriously…you’ve probably got more Termagants than you know what to do with. Same with Hive Tyrants. But if you just want new ones I’m not going to stop you!
What do you think of the new Tyranid Combat Patrol?
