D&D Accessories: Design The Perfect Gaming Room
D&D is a big part of your life and you deserve a gaming room dedicated to your dungeon crawling, treasure collecting adventures.
1. Game Night Table Topper
We all want a designated gaming table. They’re beautiful, bespoke piece of furniture made special fur tabletop and miniature game playing. Unfortunately, for many of us those gaming tables are prohibitively expensive. Sure, my husbands and I been saying we’ll get a real gaming table when our dining room table finally dies, but they’re so much money and my Ikea monster is still somehow going strong. I’m pretty sure we’ll be hosting adventure sessions on that deeply scratched wood forever. For people like all of us with bills and furniture that’s still perfectly serviceable, there are these handy table toppers. Coming in a number of sizes and colors, toppers have a no slip underside and cup holders. Keep your game corralled inside the raised edges but protected by the felt flooring, and when you’re done pack the entire thing up and your ancient Ikea table is ready for eating or sewing cosplay or whatever you use it for on non-adventuring days.
2. Add An Accent Wall
In an otherwise relatively plain room, accent walls make the entire space look a little more fun and personalized. And if you’re designing a room to roll dice and go on adventures with, have a wall or two to reflect that. I’ve gotten the peel and stick wallpaper from Spoonflower for my house, and it’s easy to put up and looks so nice when you’re done.
3. Town Map Rug
A rug will make your hard floors a little warmer and your space look a little more inviting. And a D&D inspired rug will be a conversation starter for sure. There are no shortage of D&D rugs, but this one is my current favorite. It reminds me of the kids rugs that lay out a city. Except the adult version. Don’t have a city map? Borrow a layout from the rug!
4. D&D Throw Pillow
Pillows are great for comfort, decoration, or napping in unusual places. And this D&D pillow can do all of those things while also featuring a dragon. Could you find yourself in danger of covering your sofa with pillows until you don’t have a place to sit? Maybe. But just think of it as your own personal dragon’s hoard. Your soft, cozy, RPG themed dragon’s hoard.
5. D20 Lamp
If you’re planning on having any reading happen in your D&D room, light is a must. And this D20 table lamp is here to save the day…. or at least look really cool when the lights are turned down. At 6″ the lamp is 3D printed and runs on LED lights, making it sturdy and energy efficient. Not every room needs mood lighting, but your D&D room definitely deserves some.
