Angron and his XIIth Legion are ready to snack on worlds. The World Eaters are coming and here are a few of their rules to chew on.

Full disclosure, I’m a World Eaters fan and player. This is my Legion of choice. Before Angron was discovered, the Legion was called the War Hounds. They renamed themselves after Angron wanted to dub them the Eaters of Cities after his old rebel warband. But that was too small of a target. So they went with the World Eaters which was much more fitting.

Today, we’re getting a closer look at a few of their rules on the tabletop. I’m really looking forward to what they can do as they are up there when it comes to pure violence and carnage on the tabletop.

“The World Eaters are best of the best at getting right up into (and punching) the faces of the enemy. They won’t need to write a pretentious little poem about it, either – these gore-spattered gladiators are Violence Incarnate, and entirely too enthusiastic about pummeling their foes into a pulp.”

World Eaters Rules

When the World Eaters charge they get an additional attack. If you enjoy rolling buckets of dice in close combat then the World Eaters just might be the ones for you. Now, you might be wondering “how are they going to make it to close combat?” The truth is that they probably won’t all make it. However, the ones that do make it are going to be plenty ticked-off and ready to bring the pain. Furthermore, they do actually have a few tricks to make it across the tabletop. Tricks like The Savage Tide.

This rule is quite fitting. It’s an Advanced Reaction that happens when a World Eaters unit gets targeted. It’s only usable once per game — so you’re going to have to choose wisely. When it gets used, the unit getting shot (aka the Target World Eaters) gain a 5+ Feel No Pain for the attack. That ability doesn’t stack with other FNP saves and doesn’t improve an existing one. So a 5+ FNP is all you’re getting!

Then, after the attack is done, the World Eaters unit can immediately make a Charge! SURPRISE! This could be devastating if you pull it off right. Out of sequence charging is a great way to mess-up the enemy battle plan. Oh, and the enemy doesn’t get to make a reaction to this particular charge either.

Savage Fervour is another special World Eaters rule that allows them to swap out Chainswords for Chainaxes at no additional points. Because, well, they ARE the World Eaters.

I can’t wait to get my hands on the new rules for this army! The World Eaters are revving up — are you ready?
