Warhammer 40K: Chaos & GSC Combat Patrol Pricing Breakdown
There are two new Combat Patrol Boxes coming from Games Workshop. We know the contents and the price point. Time for a Breakdown!
Games Workshop announced that a pair of Combat Patrols are coming to pre-order this weekend. We’re getting a new Chaos Space Marine Combat Patrol and a Genestealer Cult version, too. The Price-Point for Combat Patrols is $150. So what does that translate to for savings for you? Let’s find out and tackle them with a Pricing Breakdown.
Chaos Space Marine Combat Patrol
Dark Apostle w/ 2 Dark Disciples $38
Total Individual MSRP $218
Total Savings $68
The math is showing a savings of $68 on this box. Not bad at all! The contents aren’t terrible either. The Marines and Havocs are good deal as you’ll have some spare heavy weapons to play around with. And the Helbrute is a nice beefy unit to have around. The Dark Apostle can be useful for the right Chaos Legion, too. If you’re new this is a good Combat Patrol for you and getting 2 is a great start. You might not need two Dark Apostles but the savings overall would still make it worth a repeat buy.
Genestealer Cult Combat Patrol
20 Neophyte Hybrids (2 boxes) $100
Total Individual MSRP $276
Total Savings $126
In terms of savings this is a whopper of a deal from Games Workshop. You’re looking at a discount that makes this one almost 1/2 off the retail price! Futhermore, being a box of Genestealer Cultists, you’ve got lots of options in this kit. This one is a strong recommendation to buy two if you’re looking to start a GSC army. Who cares if you don’t need a second Magus. You’re still saving over $90 vs buying everything else at normal retail pricing.
Side note: There are also rules for using GSC in Necromunda and with the Ash Waste bringing vehicles in the mix you could absolutely double dip with a GSC “gang” in Necromunda and army for 40k. Just tossing that out there.
The Genestealer Cult Combat Patrol is a heck of a deal! Which boxed set would you like to get your hands on?
