I love psychological thrillers, and the two lead actors are brilliant. I can’t help but think of Misery, with psychotherapy instead of writing a novel. I’m not sure if they can match the performances of James Caan or Kathy Bates, or the atmosphere Rob Reiner created. Hopefully, this presents something new and compelling, and some powerhouse performances.
Can a killer be stop himself by talking his issues through? We’ll find out.

The Patient Details
The show stars Steve Carell, Domhnall Gleeson, Linda Edmond, David Alan Grier, Laura Niemi, Alex Rich, and Andrew Leeds. Joel Fields and Joe Weisberg wrote the series – both worked on The Americans.
The Patient is a psychological thriller about a therapist who is held prisoner by patient Sam Fortner who reveals himself to be a serial killer. With time running out, Alan fights desperately to stop Sam before Alan becomes complicit in Sam’s murders or worse – becomes a target himself.
The series debuts on Hulu on August 30th.
