New ‘Sandman’ Trailer Premieres at SDCC – Death, Desire, & the Eyes of the Corinthian

‘Sandman’ at SDCC featured a star-studded panel, creator insight, and a brand new trailer just a few days before the show’s premiere.

SDCC is back live and in-person this year after the pandemic, and there are major announcements from studios galore! This afternoon, the cast of Netflix’s highly anticipated series The Sandman gave us another look at the show. Including more members of the Endless.

Con attendees got plenty of treats at the Sandman SDCC panel. A clip of Joanna Constantine fighting demons. We get several detailed quick looks at various moments, like a look at Desire’s home, John Dee in the diner, the Corinthian’s eyes, and more details.

This has been a big week for Sandman fans. Before Sandman made an appearance at SDCC, Entertainment Weekly gave us our first official look at Death. Neil Gaiman and Kirby Howell-Baptiste shared their thoughts about the character and the way she sees the world. We also got some exclusive photos.

It also looks like we also got a new poster featuring several characters and the magical circle that keeps Morpheus a prisoner. We also get our first look at Gilbert on the bottom left.

The Sandman Cast & Crew

Neil Gaiman and David Goyer (The Dark Knight, Krypton) are set as executive producers. Allan Heinberg (Wonder Woman) as showrunner and head writer.

The giant ensemble cast includes Tom Sturridge as Dream, Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer, Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Death, Donna Preston as Despair, and Mason Alexander Park (who is non-binary just like their character) as Desire. Other supporting characters have also been cast, like Vivienne Acheampong as Lucienne, Boyd Holbrook as the Corinthian, Jenna Coleman as Joanna Constantine, and Mark Hammill as Merv Pumpkinhead.

‘Sandman’ premieres on Netflix on August 5th.
