Games Workshop Rumor Engine: ‘Feathers Flock Together’
It’s Tuesday which means it’s time for a brand new Rumor Engine from Games Workshop. And this one is all about the feathers.
Sometimes when Games Workshop shows off a Rumor Engine we get a pretty good idea of what we’re looking at. But other times…well, they throw us for a loop. Today it looks a like we might be on the trail of the latter. Take a look for yourself.
“Acolyte, take up the Sacred Remote Control. No, not that one. The other one, the one that does the Holy Set-top Box. No, that’s terrestrial. Switch the input to HDMI. No, the other HDMI. The other, other HDMI. Now… Menu. Start? We give up.”
So what are we even looking at today? Well, we’ve got feathers that are tied to a rope or braid. I’m thinking this is a rope or some sort of fashion statement instead of someone’s hair. Why? Well the ends of the hair look a bit too knot-like. Anyhow, we don’t have much else to go on. It’s certainly feathers…so who’s wearing them?
When I see feathers in Warhammer I think of the Dark Angels. Now, this might be way off — but that’s my first gut reaction. The Dark Angels do have a lot of feathers in their gear so this might not be super far off.
Still, their feathers tend to be parts of their armor. We don’t typically see long braided straps with feathers on them. You might see a feather or two hanging off a gun here and there and not presented like the Rumor Engine here.
On the flip side, we also see feathers used quite a bit in Age of Sigmar. But typically that’s in the form of fletching on arrows. Or are they…
The Stormcast don’t use feathers for fletching…
Neither do the Kurnoth Hunters. The point is, there lots of units that don’t use feathers for fletching in AoS. And the ones that do use them aren’t shaped like the feathers above.
So, that leaves us back as square one. Which system do you think this Rumor Engine is from? And what faction would be using these as decoration? If you’ve got any guesses we want to see them in the comments!
This is another tough Rumor Engine from Games Workshop…
