Destiny x Fortnite x Fall Guys? Oh My!
Some of the biggest names in gaming are crossing the streams with new skins and big news.
Yesterday, Bungie (developers of Destiny 2) had a big showcase reveal for the next chapter of Destiny. They covered quite a bit of stuff on their twitch stream including the reveal of the next major expansion (Lightfall) along with a new subclass (Strand) and also a TON of updates coming soon.
While that was all big news by itself there were MORE announcements that rocked the gaming world as a whole. Destiny 2 is now available for download from the Epic Store. And to celebrate the release Bungie and Epic are doing a whole lot of skin-swapping!
Destiny x Fortnite x Fall Guys
For Destiny 2 players, you can grab 3 new armor sets themed from Fortnite’s previous seasons right now. For the Titans you have the Black Knight (from the season 2 battle pass), Warlocks get Drift ( season 5 battle pass) and the Hunters get an set based on The Omega Armor (season 4). All these sets have been Destiny-a-fied to fit more inline, but the inspiration is clearly there.
Also as part of the celebration just for installing the game from the Epic Store you’ll get the 30th Anniversary Pack for FREE. That unlocks a special dungeon activity in Destiny 2 as well as opens up the quest to get the Exotic Gjallarhorn — which is still one of the best weapons in the game.
For Fortnite players, you’ll get access to purchase 3 new skins (Zavala, The Exo Stranger, Ikora Rey) as well as a TON of other cosmetics in the Fortnite store.
That video is a fun nod to the infamous “Loot Cave” and is a nice intro for these characters. But that’s not all! There’s even a special mode you can play, too:
Now that you are dressed the part for Destiny action, we wanted to make a place for those skins to feel right at home. Epic collaborated with Team PWR and our artists to recreate the Javelin-4 map in Fortnite. If you are up to the challenge, you can jump into a special Control game totally created in the Fortnite Creative mode and battle other players for those zones. You can choose between Warlock, Hunter, and Titan for a premade loadout meant to capture the spirit of each class with its own weapon set, grenades, and even a Super.
That’s pretty awesome! Control mode in Destiny 2 is essentially capture the point with 3 points. The fact that they even added set weapons, grenades, and a “super” is a lot of fun. If you’re a fan of Fortnite why not boot that mode up and give it a rumble!.
Fall Guys Fans, you’re also getting some fun additions with 3 new skins to score.
These three skins represent the Titan, Warlock, and Hunters from Destiny in Fall Guys. Those skins will be available on 9-17-22 so you’ll have to wait just a bit longer for those. But they did turn the cuteness up to 100.
It’s really neat to see these big games do these collaborations in a way that’s not mandatory and only cosmetic changes. I like pretty much all of these skins and will probably pick-up a couple. If you’ve got some ingame currency laying around you can purchase these skins for your characters. And considering all three of these games are Free-To-Play why not give them a go!
Not gonna lie, I already had a bunch of V-bucks laying around and bought the Destiny 2 Skin pack for Fortnite. The Destiny 2 armor sets are also going to be on rotation for Bright Dust this season, too — so you can earn those as well. Time to start banking some Bright Dust.
Eyes Up, Guardian!
