Warmachine: For Coin and Carnage – New Mk. IV Previews
There’s a lot of exciting stuff coming to your Mk. IV Warmachine armies… assuming you can afford their fee.
The new edition of Warmachine isn’t even officially out yet, and it’s already shaping out to be one of the best. Modular ‘jacks, customizable spell lists, and the return of the original baddies from lore all add up to an incredible ruleset. While we know what’s coming for Cygnar, Khador, and the barbaric Orgoth, the rest of the armies have been steeped in shadow. But worry not, fellow warcasters, Privateer Press has pulled back the veil just a little to give us a glimpse at some returning heroes. While there’s no official confirmation WHO these warriors are (even the teaser pics aren’t easy to find), fans of the OG game will likely recognize the warriors from context. So, without further ado, here are four teaser images of incoming minis, and who they most likely are.

Mercenary Occultist (Eilish Garrity)
From the looks of this gentleman, it’s everybody’s favorite occultist, Eilish Garrity. Famous for being one of the primary mortals to betray the Iron Kingdoms to the Infernals, Garrity was a powerful caster, able to manipulate the flow of battle with dark magics. The googles, the grimoire, even the mystical flaming skull point in his direction here, but we’ll have to wait a bit longer to know for sure.
Sword-Wielding Dusk Elf (Eiryss/Kaelyssa)
A hooded elf wielding a very familiar icy sword, this could be any number of Ghyrrshyld’s experimental vampire elves. However, judging by the Mage Hunter garb, my money is on either Eiryss, the famous mercenary wanderer, or Kaelyssa, the mage hunter prodigy. Judging by that nasty crossbow we can see poking out from the robe, though, my money is on Eiryss. She would definitely have been willing to put Ghyrrshyld down if he got out of line, and perhaps wielding the sword is her version of redemption. As before, only time will tell.
Dark Paladin (Alexia Ciannor)
Our next entry is probably my favorite design of the bunch. Dressed in a wicked-looking cloak and army ensemble and wielding a deadly claymore, this lass looks like she means business. Given all that, my vote is for the errant necromancer Alexia Ciannor. With the church likely less interested in heretics like her, it would be the perfect time for her to make her reappearance, using the dead as soldiers to turn the tide against the encroaching Orgoth invasion. I do really hope that’s who this is, as I never got to use her in Mk. III, and would love an excuse to include her in my list.
Cursed Warrior (Aleksandra Zerkova)
With a fur-lined cloak, spiked armor, and Doom Reaver’s sword, this is definitely an ex-Khadorian. Revealed as a prisoner with no name, the warrior has apparently mastered the cursed blade and now wields it to great effect against her foes. But where have we heard of a Khadorian that wields forbidden relics before? If you guessed Warcaster Kommander Zerkova, then you and I think the same. Adding to this is the matching scar on her face. My real question is…why did she turn her back on the Motherland? Or did it turn its back on her?
