Today’s Rumor Engine is a doozy! Can you help decipher what this model could be? Come check it out for yourself.

Sometimes we get Rumor Engines that are just completely random and they are just about impossible. Sometimes we get ones that are pretty straightforward and relatively simple to figure out. And then there’s ones that are kind of in the middle — you can tell what you’re looking at but you really have no idea what’s going to be the end result when the model actually shows up. Today’s is firmly in the last category.

“We’re often asked if we know what the Rumour Engine takes pictures of, and nothing could be further from the truth. Take today’s picture, for instance… what even is that?”

What the heck are we looking at today?! Well it looks a whole lot like a spider/xenos skull of some sort but with a huge crack through one of the eye sockets. This kind of reminds me of the Arachnarok Spider:

But maybe a smaller version? It’s got similar features for sure. Only, this could be a skull or trophy of one. Hence the crack in the eye socket. There are smaller spiders than the Arachnarok

But this skull looks bigger than those. Maybe it’s somewhere in the middle? A “medium” sized spider perhaps? Does this mean we’re going to see a new Grot Spider unit? That would be cool! But this is a skull…maybe it’s something else? Heck, it could even be from 40k instead of the Mortal Realms of AoS.

We have had some pretty strange ones pop up randomly from 40k after all. the Ambul is a great example. As much as I’d personally like it to be something Tyranid, I don’t think this one fits. And I also don’t think it’s daemonic enough to be from the Warp. I could be wrong! And if you’ve go some examples of like-creatures from either of those lines please drop us a line in the comments.

This Rumor Engine is another good example of showing us something cool without telling us a whole lot. So if you’ve got any theories or guesses let us know. That’s the whole point of these Rumor Engines afterall!
