It hardly seems like a year has gone by. And yet, the first anniversary of Modiphius’ action-horror RPG, Achtung! Cthulhu is here to prove that time is linear. But also that the aeons are indeed strange.
If you’re unfamiliar with the game, Achtung! Cthulhu is a game of Lovecraftian horror set amidst the action and pulp adventure of WWII. It is a time of secret agents, two-fisted heroes, and brave civilians and soldiers caught up in the occult machinations of the Axis and Allies.

Achtung! Cthulhu Free Introductory Adventure – Operation Ultimatum
In Achtung! Cthulhu’s pulp-influenced world of brave Allied heroes, secret agents, mysterious mystics, and dauntless two-fisted adventure, players take on the roles of Allied servicemen and women, secret agents, members of the French Resistance — or even hapless civilians caught up in the wider conflict. All stand firm against the twisted might of the Nazis and their occult forces, including the Cult of the Black Sun, who wield foul magic and summon ancient horrors in their bid to unleash Yog-Sothoth and Nachtwölfe, the Night Wolves, who place their trust in weird science and wonder weapons to prevail.
And you can explore it all with a new introductory mission: Operation Ultimatum. In Operation Ultimatum, a one-hour intro mission, heroes will learn that something sinister is happening behind enemy lines.
It is May 1939 and the British Expeditionary Force, driven back towards Dunkirk by the Blitzkrieg, sets the stage for a tale of intrigue and danger. Agents are on the hunt for a missing professor, dispatched by Section M, Britain’s occult special force.
From there the adventure blossoms weird and wild as they come across aliens from beyond Pluto and the Night Wolves themselves.
