Age of Sigmar: Vanguard – Disciples of Tzeentch Pricing Breakdown
What sort of a deal is the Vanguard – Disciples of Tzeentch box? We’re going to crunch some numbers and find out!
Yesterday, we did a pricing breakdown of the Lumineth Realm-lords. That got me thinking about the Arcane Cataclysm boxed set which featured the Lumineth Realm-lords facing off against the Disciples of Tzeentch. And that’s when it hit me…we never did a Pricing Breakdown for the DoT Vanguard box that just came out! And since Clint already wrote up some suggested next steps for that box, I wanted to check some pricing on it as well. So with that in mind let’s crunch some numbers.
Vanguard: Disciple of Tzeentch Pricing Breakdown
1x Magister on Disc of Tzeentch $38
3x Screamers of Tzeentch $35
3x Flamers of Tzeentch $35
10x Tzaangors $50
10x Kairic Acolytes $27.50 (half a box)
Total Individual MSRP $185.50
Total Savings: $55.50
For a Vanguard Box, this one isn’t one of the best deals out there but it’s certainly not one of the worst either. That said, it’s got a lot of the core units you’ll probably want in the box already. Again, Clint already covered a few upgrade options. With the new book the Endless Spells and a Lord of Change/Fateweaver are pretty oblivious places to head next. If you want to know why then check out our video covering their Battletome.
Another thing I’d like to point out is that this box does pair nicely with the contents of Arcane Cataclysm. There’s not a lot of overlap with the units in there — except for the ones you need like Tzaangors and Kairic Acolytes. More of those “basic” units in your collections isn’t a bad thing!
If you already had that boxed set and were looking to expand then the Vanguard Box isn’t a bad pick-up by any means. You’ll probably still want those heavy hitters mentioned above though. Anyhow, the good news is that the Vanguard: Disciples of Tzeentch box is currently out now so if you wanted to dive into making a new Tzeentch army you totally can!
Vanguard: Disciples of Tzeentch $130
The worshippers of the Changer of the Ways seek to reshape the Mortal Realms, twisting it into forms more pleasing to their fickle god. Sorcerously-gifted Magisters lead chanting Kairic Acolytes to war alongside braying Tzaangor herds and conjured daemonic entities, leaving a trail of destruction and madness in their wake.
If you’re eager to devote yourself to the Change God, this Vanguard box makes a fantastic beginning to a Disciples of Tzeentch army – or a great way to bolster an existing one – and will save you money compared to buying the contents individually. The box contains a sorcerous Hero and several Battleline units, providing a complete army in a box that suits to a wide range of strategies, keeping your opponents guessing in Warhammer Age of Sigmar.
Buy the Vanguard box and expect some change!
