Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast VR Mod makes it clear that slicing apart Stormtroopers with a lightsaber is very upsetting yet satisfying.

Team Beef is a crew of modders who specialize in VR content. They’ve been mostly focused on Quake and Doom mods. But they’ve been working hard on a new project to replace your BFG9000 with a Lightsaber.

Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast VR Mod

The Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast VR Mod is now available for Quest 2. It adds a level of immersion you won’t find in any other Star Wars game. Well, except for all of those other ones. But, as one of the best Star Wars video games out there, getting to really step into this role is absolutely a step above the rest.

The mod offers motion-controlled lightsabering. With that, is the ability to get pretty wild with how you deal with the onslaught of stormtroopers.

I’m starting to see why you were outcast.

If you join their Patreon page at the Mid or Gold Tier, you gain early access to the mod. Currently, it features a demo mission, where Kyle Katarn and Jan Ors investigate an Imperial Remnant base on Alzoc III, the Talz home planet.

VR Market is Growing

VR has been gaining a lot more wide-audience support over the last few years. What used to be a niche subset of gaming has become a lot more accessible with more affordable VR headsets and accessories. And with a wider audience comes more developers making VR games, like the Warhammer VR experience from Zero Latency.

Finally, all those hours of Beat Saber will have amounted to something useful.

Team Beef states on their Patreon page the projects they are currently actively working on. This includes WrathQuest (Wrath: Aeon of Ruin native Quest port), BendyVR (PCVR mod of Bendy and the Ink Machine), and JKQuest (Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast and Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy native Quest ports).

Seems like any VR aficionado should be keeping an eye on Team Beef to see what they come up with next.
