N7 Day Roundup: Nasa Celebrates, Voice Actors Speak, And A Vague Tease From Liara
N7 day brought no concrete news about the new game, though it did promise yet another title for Dr. Liara “Shadow Broker” T’Soni.
We may not have gotten a new trailer. Or even confirmation that the next game is titled Mass Effect 4 or Mass Effect 5. Or even a window for release. But you know what, N7 Day was still pretty rad.
N7 Day, if you’re unfamiliar, is a celebration of all things Mass Effect. From the original trilogy, to Andromeda, to a number of fan-favorite theories, videos, and more. Across the various community hubs, folks celebrated one of the biggest sci-fi games out there.
Even NASA, yes, that NASA got in on the celebration on the official Mass Effect subreddit.
Which is wild. They link to a documentary about NASA narrated by the voice of Mass Effect’s nigh-omniscient codex, which is just amazing.
On a big stream, the voices of Mass Effect reunited and it’s just one of the most wholesome things you’ve seen.
Fair warning if you’re one of those people who can’t see the actor behind a voice without it ruining the image, which, y’know, fair. But the panel is delightful. It’s full of memories, behind-the-scenes anecdotes, and more.
This is probably the best way to celebrate N7 Day. The video up above is the whole stream in case you missed it live.
Okay So What News Did We Get On N7 Day?
That said, we did get a look at some big, bold new things for Mass Effect. Including Beyond the Relays, an upcoming new mod for Stellaris, featuring none other than BroShep Mark Meer.
This is a total conversion mod for Stellaris that turns everything into Mass Effect. Which is going to be absolute murder on your free time if you let it. But what a way to go.
Over on the official BioWare Gear Store, Commander Shepard’s N7 Jacket got reimagined. Just look at it. The whole thing will run you $120, which is pretty good for a full on jacket. It is 100% polyester, with a polyurethane coating decoration.
Finally though, the big teaser we got. Early on in the day, the official Mass Effect account released a video of an “intercepted transmission.”
Happy #N7Day from across the stars! 💫 We found this interesting footage you may want to 🔍 a bit more closely.

The tiny text reads:
Vaccum-dock Relay Construction Record / Monitoring Station Operated by Green Dagger Ltd. Property of Deepspace Dhow SAV / Ship Captain: Sub-Navarch Soa’Rhal Zhilian-Jones
For Interior Use Only
It wasn’t long before the audio was decoded. Hidden in the video was a conversation between Liara T’soni and an unknown Geth that is as follows:
I can see it… How did we miss this?… Exactly… The council will be furious. Although, they should know by now not to underestimate human defiance…[unintelligible]…
Which the official Mass Effect account later confirmed:
Thank you to all the agents who decoded the footage. Here’s a clean transmission 👀 https://t.co/iADrTHnU6s pic.twitter.com/ALNBNNM05a

Human Defiance indeed. So while there’s still no release date, there are some pretty massive teasers for the next game. We know Liara and the Geth are going to play a part in it. The video clearly shows ships reconstructing a Mass Relay.
And interestingly enough, Green Dagger might be a reference to a five-day military exercise held in the Mojave Desert that brings together military forces from a number of countries, including the US Marines, UK’s Royal Marines, the Netherlands, UAE, and Canada.
The next game may be a while off. But that just means there’s time to start another playthrough of Mass Effect: Legendary Edition. Who knows, maybe this time you might actually make different choices!
I know I won’t. Happy N7 Day!
