Let’s Build Your Nerd Cave
We’d all like to have a designated spot for enjoying our tabletop RPGs. It can be pricy and take up a lot of room, but it doesn’t have to be!
Sometimes it’s nice to have a dedicated space for something you love. For me, my office is where I come to “get work done” with my Switch and all of my favorite books. But having a tabletop gaming space would be pretty neat if I had the space. But I don’t. Toddler life, y’know? So today let’s work together to put together a space-conscious nerd cave (or corner).
1. Gaming Table Topper
I would love a gaming table. Who wouldn’t? Back in the before times I used to go to conventions and peruse every gaming table vendor in attendance, ask all about their features, take a little brochure with the pricing breakdown, and then quietly weep when I went home and had to pay things like my mortgage. I already have a dining room table, and a fancier one isn’t necessary.
If you, like me, don’t have unlimited cash, but still love a gaming table, the table topper may be the answer you didn’t know you were looking for! It has all of the felt-lined, cup-holding, dice-containing benefits of a real gaming table, but you can fold it back up and put it into its carrying case when you’re done and return to using your dining table for dining.
2. D&D Knowledge Poster
Posters are a great way to spruce up an area where you want to have a certain feel. And if you’re decorating your D&D space, why not make that poster useful with this 40x30cm bar-style poster full of D&D lore? Everything on here is pretty basic, but we all forget basics at the table and could use a cheat sheet to reference from time to time.
3. Dice Fairy Lights
This pick may not be everybody’s favorite. For some, this pick may be a little too “college dorm” and not enough “adult with a job.” But hear me out, fairy lights are fun. That’s it, it’s not that deep. They’re just cute and fun. And this particular set has bulbs that look like little multicolored dice.
4. Gelatinous Cube Statue
If you’d like to go in a slightly different direction with your decorating, this seven-inch Gelatinous Cube statue will be equal parts oo-ahh worthy and threatening to your players.
