This new Rumor Engine from Games Workshop brings some wicked looking wristblade action to the tabletop.

I’m getting some serious Yautja (aka Predator) vibes from this week’s Rumor Engine. We’ve also got more of the expanding meta-narrative of the Rumor Engine Sponsors… But before we get into all that you should take a look for yourself.

Wristblades And Claws

Kicking the discussion off about the actual Rumor Engine that is one cruel looking wristblade! It could fit in either the Grimdark or the Mortal Realms, too. It does look a tad more AoS to me…but with what little we’re seeing from this model it’s still too up in the air.

That design is going to rule out most folks in both the Imperium and the forces of Order (except for maybe the Daughters of Khaine). The other big feature is the claw hand. That’s what making me think it could be Skaven, Flesheater Courts, Kruelboyz, or some monster from Chaos. This is a tough one for sure!

These claws also look like one of Radukar’s friends…

That brings us to your turn. If you’ve got any good theories on what this one could be drop us a line in the comments!

New Sponsor For The Rumor Engine?

So last week we got a nod to Trazyn the Infinite. This week’s text is another deep lore cut with a a mention of Hrud!

“Today’s sponsor is the Respectable Salvager’s Nocturnal Consortium, who assure us that they are certainly not a secret society of Hrud, and wish to encourage all spacefarers to dispose of junk, broken machinery, and expired foodstuffs by leaving them scattered around their voidcraft near any unsecured vents.”

The “sponsor” this week is the RSNC. I don’t know if the acronym actually has ties to anything we’ve seen before but it’s there. But right there in the text, we get a mention of Hrud — which is kind of exciting.

The Hrud have a been a lot time tease/fan favorite xenos. Folks have even made Hrud armies before and those conversions looked really cool. That said we actually know very little about them! We’ve even got competing images of what Hrud actually are.

Both of the images above are from GW and both are have labels for Hrud. This makes us wonder if maybe there are many types of these xenos and we just won’t know until GW makes an official Hrud army…one day. Maybe.

What if this new wristblade and claw is a Hrud nod!?
