Total War: Warhammer 3 – New DLC Coming April, More Planned For This Year
In a message to the community, Total War: Warhammer III game director Rich Aldridge outlined the future, including new DLC for April.
It’s been a while since anyone heard from the Total War: Warhammer 3 team. After an intense focus on getting Immortal Empires exactly right—and succeeding, if the numbers are anything to go by—things seemed to slow down a little on the Warhammer 3 DLC release side of things.
But as we circle in on the first year anniversary of Total War: Warhammer 3’s release, game director Rich Aldridge had a message for the community about what the team’s been up to, along with the fact that we’ll see DLC in April!
Total War: Warhammer 3 – DLC Coming April
In a post on the Total War subreddit, Warhammer Game Director Rich Aldridge spoke to the community, hoping to talk about “why we are where we are.” This was referring to the deviation from their projected roadmap for Warhammer 3 DLCs. Since the release of Immortal Empires, the team has been focused on getting the game exactly where it needs to be. Aldridge spoke about the challenges and successes faced in getting Immortal Empires released.
Aldridge mentioned “a few nice surprises” before getting into the first piece of new content for the year. A DLC planned for release in April, with an announcement in the not too distant future.
Many hope that Aldridge is referring to a DLC that will bring the Chaos Dwarfs screaming to the battlelines. But, the April DLC isn’t the only one planned for the coming year. Aldridge mentioned “hopefully” having two more: one for summer, and one for fall:
For me, new experiences are what we are all about and we aim to deliver two more exciting major content drops later this year, in the Summer and Winter this year with smaller patching updates in between. This is our “aim” rather than a concreate plan, which I will go a little more into now with you.
And punctuating these releases will be patches with fixes, improvements, and everything else to make the game run smoothly, so that players can go about the business of world conquest.
