Games Workshop has a new power axe to tease us with but this design is a little…off. What can you make of the latest Rumor Engine?

It’s another Tuesday and it’s a special one at that. I hope you all remembered your Valentine’s Day plans. If not, well, good luck! Anyhow, Games Workshop has a new teaser and this power axe isn’t like other ones. Take a look for yourself.

“Despite last week’s assurances, rumours persist that the Rumour Engine isn’t real. The chatter has begun to hurt the Engine’s feelings – which it definitely has, unless you’re from the Adeptus Mechanicus in which case of course it doesn’t, don’t be ridiculous. Look, a picture!”

So this one is clearly a power axe — you can see the shape and the “power pack and cable” parts. What’s really curious about this axe is that it’s a bit sleeker than other axes. Take a look at a Space Marine power axe as an example:

That’s from the Assault Marine Sprue. And while it’s an older model the point stands. It just looks a bit chunkier than this new one. Also, this Rumor Engine version seems like it’s a hand-axe instead of a longer version. Notice where the had is.

Maybe it’s something from the Horus Heresy line? A more civilised time for a more elegant weapon? Maybe it’s not a Space Marine wielding it either. There’s lots of factions that use power axes. Also, take a closer look at that hand…it looks more like a glove than armored.

Could this be a new Sister of Silence?

Their gloves are different but I’m not ruling anything out at this point. But this is where you come in. If you’ve got any ideas we want to read them in the comments! Do you recognize that style of power axe or hand? Your tips could blow this case wide open!

Who’s hand could that be?
