Someone dropped a smoke grenade in the weekly Rumor Engine from Games Workshop. But don’t take our word for it see for yourself!

It’s another Tuesday and that means it’s time for a brand new Rumor Engine from Games Workshop. This one might be obvious as to what it is but that’s what makes it so misleading…take a look and we’ll discuss further.

“In a bid to prove the legitimacy of the Rumour Engine’s predictions – which we might add have come true 100% of the time – today’s image will be displayed without the input of any human whatsoever. We’re going to close our eyes, cross our fingers, and let the Rumour Engine show whatever it wants. “

So yep. That’s a smoke grenade. Now the question is who’s throwing it? I’ve got a few sneaking suspicions…

We’ve seen smoke grenades like this before. See the Vanguard Lieutenant above as an example. But look closer are his grenades and specifically the smoke grenade on the ground. It’s a very different structure than the one from the Rumor Engine.

Again, more looks at the grenades of the Primaris Reivers — it’s a different design. No, the smoke grenade from the Rumor Engine looks a bit more bolted together. Or cobbled…

It could certainly be an Ork grenade. Although they do typically like their Stikkbombs. Maybe it’s them, maybe it something else. It doesn’t look like it’s high-tech enough to be a Leagues of Votann option, although it could be Imperial adjacent.

But what if there’s a new unit coming that is a bit more on the scouting side of the Leagues of Votann roster. I mean, we do have those Hernkyn Pioneers who are a tad on the “rugged individualist” side.

I’m still not sure that fits the aesthetic though. If I had to guess I’d probably go with some new Astra Militarum unit or even and Ork. We’ll have to wait to find out! In the meantime if you’ve got any guesses drop them in the comments! Smoke ’em if you got ’em.

You don’t think it’s T’au, do you?
