Age of Sigmar: Skink Starseers Elevate The Priesthood
The Skinks of the Seraphon are about get a level-up in Priest-powers. Meet the new Skink Starseers.
The Seraphon are going to get a new battletome and a major model refresh in the summer. But for now Games Workshop is drip-feeding us some more teasers. Today, the Skink Starseers are under the spotlight.
Skink Starseers
“Skink Starseers float into battle on arcanite palanquins, which conduct thaumaturgical energy and boost the lizard wizard’s powers. Utilising astromantic tools, orbs of pure star-glass, and their throne’s inbuilt dais, they read the constellations to provide celestial guidance to Seraphon armies.”
Don’t underestimate these little guys. They are second only to the Slann in their “mastery of arcane power.” Which is saying something! If nothing else they look like they are in charge when the Slann aren’t around. Check out those fancy features on their head-dress and staff.
I like their mini-palanquin (well, mini compared to the Slann). It’s still got all the same stone work and arcane carvings on them as well. Clearly these Skinks are blessed by the Old Ones and have found a way to tap into that technology. There are some benefits to using their star-powers, too.
Their ability to toss our ward saves could come in handy on a pivotal turn. I wonder if you can run multiple Skink Starseers and have access to this Once per battle ability on multiple characters. I don’t see why not — unless they are unique in which case, you could only take one.
The wait won’t be too long now. Summer is right around the corner and the Lizards are coming to sun themselves on a tabletop near you!
