Age of Sigmar: Blades of Khorne Get Some Nice Upgrades
Games Workshop is showing off some of the new changes coming to the Blades of Khorne. It’s about to get extra bloody on the tabletop.
There’s a gore-storm coming soon when the Blades of Khorne drop in on the tabletop. Today we’re getting a look at a few of their new updates and things are already sounding pretty spicy. I hope you bring your raincoat because when it rains (blood) it pours!
“War is ever-present in the Age of Sigmar, and the god of slaughter slakes his thirst on the blood spilled upon countless battlefields. The followers of the Blood God are gripped by a half-mad frenzy, rampaging across the realms, and laying waste to all before them.”
Blades of Khorne – Let The Blood Flow
Getting across the tabletop and staying combat effective has always been an issue for the Blade of Khorne. Thankfully, one of the first big changes is that the Locus of Fury is now going to provide some extra protection for Khorne Daemon units.
I really like the trade offs for this rule. Your daemons get the 5+ ward vs ranged shots but only for as long as they are outside of 8″. And if they ever retreat they lose their Locus of Fury. Now, as for the mortal followers, sorry this one doesn’t apply. However, they have some nice upgrades all their own.
Yep, all the Bloodbound models in the army are going to be able to sling those final blows out towards the enemy on a 5+ now. And if it’s a Hero, they get 3 murder rolls instead of just 1. Keep in mind this only applies to melee attacks. So if you get shot that close…well, sorry. On the flip side Khorne doesn’t let any blood go to waste with the new Blood Tithe table. GW has hinted that the entire table has gotten a rework. Here’s an example of what that’s going to look like.
I have it on good authority that this will be on the lower portion of the Blood Tithe table. However, if you wrack-up the kills then you might be triggering this more than once…
The new Battletome is coming soon and the blood will flow.
