‘Black Mirror’ Season 6 Promises More Dark Twists and Sci-Fi Tales in First Trailer
You’ve been wondering. You’ve been waiting. You’ve been warned. Black Mirror Season 6 arrives this summer – check out the first look.
It’s a challenge to keep a series like this fresh, so creator Charlie Brooker has had to change the way he works. With this season he’s adding some new elements to stretch the parameters of what an episode of the series can be. Don’t worry, there will be episodes with the classic feel and tropes the series is known for. Brooker told Tudum…
“I’ve always felt that Black Mirror should feature stories that are entirely distinct from one another, and keep surprising people — and myself — or else what’s the point? It should be a series that can’t be easily defined, and can keep reinventing itself… Bringing it all to life we’ve got an incredible roster of disgustingly skillful, smart directors working with a cast of actors so talented they frankly have no right to exist.”
The first trailer for Black Mirror Season 6 gives us a look at the madness – Aaron Paul in a space station, Zazie Beetz using dial-up, Paapa Essiedu in a truly fantastic outfit, and Anjana Vasan bashing someone’s head in.
Black Mirror Season 6 Cast & Details
Series creators Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones are this season’s showrunners and writers; directors haven’t been revealed.
While we don’t know what stories this season will tell, expect a focus on how tech is becoming even more prevalent in our lives – especially AI. I also wouldn’t be surprised if we got some pandemic inspired episodes. They’re not revealing how many episodes we’ll get, but there will be more than last season. The production quality will also improve. Netflix is working with a new production company this time around, and they’re describing Season 6 as “more cinematic in scope.”
It has an all-star cast consisting of Aaron Paul, Anjana Vasan, Annie Murphy, Auden Thornton, Ben Barnes, Clara Rugaard, Daniel Portman, Danny Ramirez, Himesh Patel, John Hannah, Josh Hartnett, Kate Mara, Michael Cera, Monica Dolan, Myha’la Herrold, Paapa Essiedu, Rob Delaney, Rory Culkin, Salma Hayek Pinault, Samuel Blenkin, and Zazie Beetz.
Black Mirror Season 6 arrives on Netflix in June.
