WizKid’s New D&D Boardgame ‘Trials Of Tempus’ is Up For Pre-Order
WizKids’ new D&D board game, Trials of Tempus is up for pre-order right now. Check out this competitive dungeon crawler today.
D&D crashes headlong into a bit of competitive multiplayer with a new board game currently up for pre-order from WizKids. Titled D&D: The Trials of Tempus, the new board game promises adventure galore as multiple parties compete to complete quests, acquire loot, and score the most victory points.
Of course, that all depends on whether or not you can defeat the Trial Guardian. If that sounds like a competitive game mode from something like League of Legends or a bit like Gambit from Destiny 2, you’re right. It kinda does. And that feels a bit like the vibe.
D&D: Trials of Tempus
Dungeons & Dragons: Trials of Tempus is a cooperative, team-based game for 2-8 players, where rival parties of Heroic adventurers battle to prove their worth and mettle in the ever-changing Battlerealms of Tempus, God of War!
Choose your Hero wisely, for the skills and allies you need to conquer each Trial are never the same, and the Guardian that awaits you all at the end will surely test the limits of your bravery… or is it your cunning? The Trial will tell.
To win, you and your party must work together to earn more Victory Points than your rivals by completing Quests and gathering Loot! Finally, you must defeat the Trial Guardian. Whichever party has the most Victory Points when the Trial Guardian falls wins the Trial!
In this game, you play a party of Heroic adventurers. You get minis that would be at home in any D&D campaign. And your job is to be the best band of adventurers you can be. Whether that’s by being the murderiest hobos, or by being completionists. It’s all very meta, and that might actually make it a ton of fun to play around with.
The game ships with 4d20s, 25 miniatures, and should be out sometime in late 2023.
Good luck in the trials!
