Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning is pulling out all of the stops – this is going to be a must-see for action fans.

Mission: Impossible is one of the most enduring and successful action franchises – pulling in over $3 billion worldwide. We’ve watched its core cast take on all sorts of enemies – from within the IMF and beyond – over six movies, and nearly 30 years. Dead Reckoning marks the end of this crew’s missions, and they’re going out with a massive bang. This movie includes some of the most dangerous stunts they’ve ever done. I don’t want to know what the insurance bill was.

Hopefully, it’ll make fans ok with the five-year wait. The car chases, fights, running (on top of an actual moving train, no less), and jumping off very high places in the trailers has convinced me. The great cinematography helps. I’m buying an IMAX ticket as soon as I’m able.

Dead Reckoning looks to have plenty of gadgets and intrigue, too. The new trailer reveals Ethan’s true motives and shows off more of the action the franchise and Tom Cruise (who was 58/59 when this was filmed) are known for. That motorcycle jump will never cease to be utterly amazing. It doesn’t matter how many times I’ve seen it.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Details

Christopher McQuarrie is writing/directing again. The core cast that’s been a part of the franchise for nearly 30 years is back. That includes Tom Cruise, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, and Rebecca Ferguson. Esai Morales (who played Deathstroke in Titans) will be playing one of the antagonists the crew has to deal with. Plus, Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, Shea Whigham, Rob Delaney, Charles Parnell, Indira Varma, Mark Gatiss, Greg Tarzan Davis, and Cary Elwes.

“Ethan Hunt and his IMF team embark on their most dangerous mission yet: To track down a terrifying new weapon that threatens all of humanity before it falls into the wrong hands. With control of the future and the fate of the world at stake, and dark forces from Ethan’s past closing in, a deadly race around the globe begins. Confronted by a mysterious, all-powerful enemy, Ethan is forced to consider that nothing can matter more than his mission – not even the lives of those he cares about most.”

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is coming to theaters on July 12, 2023.
