Warhammer 40K: Start Planning Your Summer ‘Vacation’
Games Workshop has a new vacation spot for this summer. Head out west. Galactically speaking, of course.
The folks at GW are having some fun with the upcoming Warhammer 40,000: 10th Edition release. They’ve put together this fun vacation ad showcasing some of the great activities you can do in the Galactic West:
Grimdark Summer Vacation
Now, this is really just a cheeky tease about the upcoming new edition. We’ve seen a lot of that footage before from the 10th edition reveal. So what is GW trying to get at with this short video?
Well, we know that Warhammer 40,000 is coming this summer so maybe it’s just a reminder to keep some summer time saved up for the new launch.
You’re going to want to plan for some extra hobby time to build and paint all the minis in the launch box, trust me. Additionally, this is also a reminder that the battle for the Grimdark has a new front with the Tyranid invasion coming to Pacificus, aka the Galactic west.
They also name dropped a new possible warzone in the video as well:
This name is similar to the name of a language from the of the Druids used in the real world Iron Age. It’s unclear if that’s a hint at something or just coincidence. Either way, it’s certainly an interesting happenstance.
“We’re actually Space Druids, thank you very much.”
Whatever is going down we’re looking forward to the release of 10th edition and all the new changes and updates coming. This summer is going to be a busy one of building, painting, and playing Warhammer 40,000 and that sounds just fine to me!
Happy Memorial Day and the kickoff to summer 2023! (Technically, summer doesn’t officially start until the 21st of June but for many folks in the US it’s the unofficial start of the summer break.)
