This ‘One Piece’ Yamato Cosplay Carries the Will of Oden
This One Piece Yamato cosplayer carries the will of Oden and is going to help you take down Kaido before sailing the seas.
Yamato is a relatively new addition to the One Piece cast and has already become one of the most popular characters. Introducing himself as the “Son of Kaido,” Yamato instantly takes to Luffy and agrees to help the future king of the pirates take the big bad down. And along the way, we learn a few things about their apparently shared past.

Of course, you may have noticed that Yamato introduces himself as a man and ‘Kaido’s son’ while presenting very feminine. And it’s raised a lot of questions regarding the character’s gender identity.
And it reminds us that One Piece as a series has shown a history of introducing trans and gender-nonconforming characters for years and years. In fact, Kiku, another character introduced in the Wano arc, is one of the best examples of introducing a trans character I’ve ever seen in anime. But we’re talking about Yamato today and his very cosplayable look.
Dutch cosplayer Satiella brings Yamato to life with cosplay photos that look like they’re right out of Wano. Sometimes location for a shoot can take a good cosplay and make them look as close to real life as possible. And this is one of those times.
