Free RPG Day is Right Around the Corner
It’s like Free comic day for TTRPG players, and it’s almost here. Find the participating store near you, because it’s almost Free RPG Day!
If your favorite hobby involves rolling dice and playing pretend, you’re going to want to get to a game store this weekend. The yearly celebration of all things tabletop role-playing games is happening on June 24th, 2023.
Free RPG Day 2023
It’s a day for celebrating the diverse tabletop gaming community as well as their creators. And from the biggest names to the smallest indie publishers, Free RPG Day gives us an opportunity to discover new games and find new ways to enjoy the games we already love. And of course, for complete newcomers to the hobby, it’s the perfect opportunity to see what tabletop gaming is so special for themselves.

This year a huge number of publishing partners are involved with the event. Included are industry titans like WizKids and Paizo, as well as a few smaller names you’ll get to know soon. Pathfinder, Starfinder, Dungeons and Dragons are all in the mix. Plus Modiphius’s Achtung! Cthulhu as well as a coloring book supplemental material for Magpie’s new Avatar Legends game, and cards, minis, and a pocket RPG guide from Dragon Shield Roleplaying. If you’re not sure where your nearest participating game store is, we’ve got you covered. The official Free RPG Day website has a store locator. Some locations will have open play, while others may not be up and running for games just yet. So check in with your participating game store, and be sure to pop in early.
