‘Warhammer 40K Darktide’ Promises Cross-Play For Steam and Microsoft Store
Cross-play is coming to Warhammer 40K Darktide in its next patch, per a recent comm-link. Here’s what we know so far.
A new comm-link from Warhammer 40K Darktide gives us a look at what to expect in the newest patch. And chief among them is cross-play between the Microsoft Store and Steam, which is super exciting for those of you looking for more folks to play with.
Alongside those, some rebalancing of blessings, a new condition, and a few more other minor tweaks. Here’s a look at everything, though more details on the cross-play parameters will be forthcoming.
Darktide‘s Next Patch Adds Steam and Microsoft Cross-Play
First up, the new patch, #11 for those playing along at home (where else would you be playing Darktide?), will include some blessing balancing changes. Blessings have been decidedly mixed since Patch 1.1, with recent hotfixes trying to address some of the issues.
Alongside the changes to some of the Blessings, the developers will add a new condition: Elite Resistance. Elite Resistance will spawn “fewer but tougher” enemies in any given mission. Meaning players might be in for more of a tactical challenge, rather than just mowing through numberless hordes.
Throneside missions also get some love, with the Enclavum Baross and Comms Plex maps now affected by the Power Supply Interruption condition. But the biggest news is cross-play, which should be in Patch #11. Here’s a brief FAQ from Fatshark:
We are preparing to roll out cross-play between the Microsoft Store and Steam, which should align with Patch #11’s release or shortly thereafter. We will be monitoring closely how cross-play fares in stability and performance. Should there be any issues, our team will stay on top of things and chart a path to ensure a smoother experience.
A full FAQ for cross-play will be added to the Fatshark Website, Forums and the Darktide Discord, but here are some answers to some preliminary questions you may have:
