Warhammer: Legions Imperialis Scale Comparisons
Games Workshop has created a bunch of graphics looking at the scale of the Horus Heresy Marines and tanks in Legions Imperialis.
If you’ve been wondering how the tiny Space Marines of Legions Imperialis compare in size to their 40k scale counterparts well now we know! Games Workshop has put together a size comparison and it’s pretty shocking. In most cases, the minis of Legions Imperialis are roughly 1/4 the size of the original models. And it’s kind of amazing to see the amount of details that are packed in.
There’s no tech-heresy interfering with these images, they truly are correctly scaled. If it helps, try to imagine four smaller Astartes standing on each other’s heads to match the regular sized Space Marine. It’s not only funny, it’s a smart way of visualising the scale difference.
It’s a little nutty to think about these pint-sized miniatures compared to their “big brothers” across the board. I really am looking forward to this one. It’s gonna be amazing to see entire armored columns of tanks zooming across the battlefield.
“The Sicaran has the same details as its larger counterpart, right down to your choice of heavy bolter or lascannon sponsons. Thanks to the scale of Legions Imperialis, you can feasibly have dozens of these rapid battle tanks racing forward to flank your foes.”
I really hope GW has nailed the ruleset for Legions Imperialis. I’m looking forward to giving this one a go as long as I can get over the first major hurdle of painting things at this scale. I think it might be a good time to make use of contrast paints!
With all the contents in the launch box we’re going to have lots of opportunity to find out. Now then…I’m wondering if we’re going to get Primarchs at that scale…
I’m waiting for the Horus Heresy Character Series in Legions Imperialis Scale!
