Marvel: Crisis Protocol M’Baku Rules Preview – New Leadership Ability Revealed
The leader of the Jabari Tribe is making his debut in Marvel: Crisis Protocol. Here comes M’Baku!
If you’re a fan of the Wakandan Affiliation then Atomic Mass Games has a treat for you. M’Baku is on the way and he’s got more than muscles to show off. This new hero has a brand new Affiliation ability to boost your Wakandan Warriors.
M’Baku is a born and bred Wakandan native, having been born into the Jabari Tribe. The Jabari worship the White Gorilla in opposition to the more dominant Panther worshiping tribes. Other than agreeing that they want a strong, powerful Wakanda, the Jabari don’t see eye to eye on much else to do with the country’s current state. Traditionalists, the Jabari would prefer to eschew the trappings of technology and the use of Vibranium for a life more rooted in their ancestry.
M’Baku, A New Leader Approaches
The exciting new ability M’Baku brings is Blessed by Ghekre. This is an Affiliation: Wakanda boost and a new leadership option. This power basically allows allies who are contesting an objective to not be Pushed or Placed by an enemy effect provided the roll a Critical, Wild, or Shield die. That’s pretty handy. Additionally, once per turn, allied characters can change a Wild die to a Hit. Not too shabby!
Aside from that new Leadership ability, M’Baku also has quite a few other powers. His basic attack is solid and can grant you Pursuit or Push depending on the attack roll. He also has the Wrath of the Jabari which allows him to toss a target character Size 4 or less. Additionally, it can trigger Avalanche which can then trigger a follow-up Knobkerrie attack.
M’Baku also has the Strength of the White Gorilla as super power. This allows him to throw interactive terrain features of size 3 or less with range 2 a distance of medium. Furthermore, he’s also the Chieftain of the Jabari which gives him immunity to being Pushed or Advanced by the special effects of attacks of enemies size 3 or less. Speaking of immunity, he’s immune to Stun! Finally, he’s got a pretty Solid Frame that makes him immune to taking damage from collisions with other characters.
While Wakanda might be under the protection of the Black Panther, that doesn’t mean the rest of its citizens are helpless. In fact, M’Baku is a powerful ally just waiting to get in the mix of things!

Two new characters with ties to the kingdom of Wakanda enter Marvel: Crisis Protocol in this new pack! Existing as a sentient sound-form, Ulysses Klaw terrorizes the world with a sound generator capable of creating high-volume sonic waves and blasts of concussive force.
