Warhammer 40K: New ‘Big Bugs’ Reveal – Send In The Norns!
Looks like the Tyranids are getting some even bigger bugs to send in. Get ready to hail the Norn Emissary and Assimilator!
Games Workshop surprised us with not one but TWO Norn big bugs. While they aren’t quite Norn Queens, the Norn Emissary and Assimilator are pretty darn scary looking.
Norn Emissary
The Norn Emissary looks like a mix between a Hive Tyrant, a Neurotyrant, and a Carnifex! It’s a new Big Bug with some serious damage potential. On top of those scary looking claws and scything talons it’s also packing some serious psychic firepower, too. It’s slightly larger than the size of a Wraithlord and that puts it well in Big Bug turf. I am curious about this one just in terms of battlefield role and survivability. GW did hint that this unit is going to be sort of a character assassin, too. Pick a unit and it’s going to get bonuses to take it out!
Norn Assimilator
The Norn Assimilator is similar to the Emissary in that it’s a Big Bug with a goal. However, this one is better suited to taking on fortifications and armor. It’s also got some toxin-related weapons and it’s great at preventing the enemy from running away.
You can also see it standing a full head and shoulder (husks) above the Wraithlord. It’s a large creature for sure and if you’re a fan of running the Tyranid “Monster Mash” style lists then this bad boy is for you!
That’s all for the Tyranid Previews from the Warhammer Preview Online. The Tyranid Codex is first up and will also be coming — prepare for the Tyranid Invasion to resume very soon…
That’s one big bug! I wonder if we’re going to see a Norn Queen since her Emissary is coming.
