The Horus Heresy made great use of Knight Households. Call them to action in Legions Imperialis!

It’s not a huge surprise that Knight Households are also getting supported in Legions Imperialis. They were a key part of the fighting as various Knight Houses chose their sides. Naturally, they are also included in Legions Imperialis so you’ll be able to bring these epic scale models to the tabletop!

“While your Primary Army List of Legiones Astartes or Solar Auxilia must account for 70% of your total points, the remaining 30% can comprise allies, including Knight Household Lance Formations. Questing knights, leggy knights, knights that look like walking eggs, even miniature Armigers – you can have them all. “

Legions Imperialis Knight Support Formations

With this Knight Household Lance Formation you can add various Knight Banners to your army. Each Banner is made of a single pattern with the option to customize them further. You’ll be able to add more of the same chassis or even upgrade a Cerastus to a Atrapos. Or you could add in Armigers as well.

“These towering mechanical warriors are tough combatants – even the Armigers have a sturdy 3+ save, while Knights Acastus get 2+, effectively as budget Titans. On top of this, every Knight is also equipped with an Ion Shield, which neuters the AP of enemy weapons firing at their front arc. “

It’s not just impressive defensive stats that Knights boast. They pack a punch with a minimum of +8 Close Assault Factor and a wide array of ranged options that will give most things in the game pause.

“Weapons like the Thermal Spear, the Thermal Cannon, and the Atrapos Lascutter all come with the Engine Killer (X) trait, which makes them ideal for hunting super-heavy armour, dealing an additional number of wounds equal to the value in the brackets, in these cases enough to crater a Kratos in a single shot.”

While these Knights are a welcome sight when they are on your side what are you going to do when you’re squaring off against them? That’s when their arcs come into play.

As you can see it’s not just Knights that the arc rule applies to — it’s also Vehicles and Titans. And it’s simplified in to just front and rear arcs. So no need to worry about sides in this game. Ideally you’ll want to get in behind these targets and hit them with everything you’ve got! Just know your opponent will probably be gunning to do the exact same to you.

Time to make some allies with Knight Households…
