Marvel: Crisis Protocol – Earth’s Mightiest Core Set Now Available
Atomic Mass Games has launched a new starter box for Marvel: Crisis Protocol and it’s out today!
We’ve been excited to get our hands on the new Marvel: Crisis Protocol core set – Earth’s Mightest Heroes. Well, we got a package in the mail from Atomic Mass Games and it just happened to be the Earth’s Mightiest Core Set!
Apparently, I have to show proof of life. Yes, we have the actual core set box.
Earth’s Mightiest Core Unboxed
So what’s in the box? Lots of goodies! Here’s what I saw step-by-step unboxing the contents:
Popping the top we got a new Core Rules book. It’s a new version of the booklet but you can find all the same rules online. Behind that we have the first batch of baggies:
These bags contain all the character miniatures in the box. The second set of baggies are the range tools and measuring devices for the game.
Here’s a look at the character sprues. As you can tell, all the good guys and bad guys are on their respective sprues. I’m betting we’re not going to see individual releases for these specific characters anytime soon. If I had to guess, we’re going to get an affiliation pack for them at some point, but for now, this is the only place to get the alternate new versions of these characters.
After the character minis, we get all the extras including dice, punch out tokens, cards, and a new score tracker. All of which you’ll want to have for your games. If you’re curious about the cards you can see them online, too.
Under that section is the first batch of terrain. Also included are all the bases for the character miniatures, too. These sections are separated by some extra cardboard — probably to keep things stacking correctly. This box is also significantly larger than the previous one with 26 terrain pieces included.
The final section (again separated by cardboard) is the final batch of terrain. As noted in our pricing breakdown for this box there’s a great mix of terrain in the box. It’s a fantastic mix for creating a board with a couple cars, dumpsters, a pair of construction vehicles, and more.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, if you’re looking for a starting point to get into Marvel: Crisis Protocol now is the time and this is the perfect box to get you started. It’s a really good deal for the amount of stuff you get in the box and you’ll have more than enough to get your first couple games in. Because we just got the box in, I haven’t had time to build the miniatures but you can bet that’s going to happen very soon.
