Amazon’s ‘Fallout’ Series First Look – It’s the End of the World All Over Again
This first official look at Amazon’s Fallout series includes the Brotherhood of Steel’s signature power armor, Walter Goggins as The Ghoul, and more.
Fallout made its debut on PC over twenty-five years ago (we’re old, it’s ok), and has been expanded multiple times. It’s set in a post-apocalyptic future inspired by atompunk that has plenty of 1940s and ’50s callbacks. The theme was one that hadn’t been explored before. That, along with its weird weapons, stories, dangers like radiated ghouls, and sense of humor that lampoons capitalism and idealism, has helped make it an instant hit. The games have achieved record-setting sales and received hundreds of awards, including dozens of Game of the Year awards. The setting has also spawned board games, MtG decks, and RPGs.
The game franchise is making the jump to live action in Amazon’s Fallout series Amazon’s Fallout series. The show is set in the same future post-apocalyptic Los Angeles and the world as the games, and its original story will be part of canon.
Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan left Warner Brothers and signed a massive deal with Amazon to create new shows. This project has them working directly with Bethesda. The studio has secured Geneva Robertson-Dworet (2018’s Tomb Raider) and Graham Wagner (The Office, Silicon Valley) as showrunners. The team’s mix of action, sci-fi, and dark comedy backgrounds should make for a fun show that understands its source.
“Fallout is one of the greatest game series of all time. Each chapter of this insanely imaginative story has cost us countless hours we could have spent with family and friends. We’re incredibly excited to partner with Todd Howard and the rest of the brilliant lunatics at Bethesda to bring this massive, subversive, and darkly funny universe to life with Amazon Studios. ”

Aaron Moten also stars as Maximus, a low-ranking member of a quasi-religious military group called The Brotherhood of Steel. A throwback to medieval times, he is the squire for a soldier who polices the world in a mechanical suit of armor.
