Horus Heresy: New ‘Alpha Legion Saboteur Consul’ Revealed… Or Are They?
Games Workshop is showing off a new Alpha Legion Saboteur Consul coming soon. But can this image really be trusted?
If there’s one thing to remember about the Alpha Legion is that they cannot be trusted. They have a long history of deception, betrayal, espionage, and counter-espionage. And even sometimes the dreaded Uno Reverse Card. They can be so mixed up not even they know which side they are on. Or are they? EXACTLY!
Ahem…Anyhow, Games Workshop did tease a new Alpha Legion Consul coming soon and I suppose it’s reasonable to believe this image is real. It’s just for a new model, right?

Alpha Legion Saboteur Consul
First off, I appreciate the subdued pose of this model. You can tell he’s trying to play it cool and not draw too much attention his direction. His Astartes Shotgun is tucked up under his arm and he’s got his hand on a dagger ready to take care of things quietly. Oh and that’s definitely a power dagger, too.
I also like the wrist mounted accessories he’s sporting. He’s got some plans in motion for sure. What are those plans? That’s something he’s going to keep close to his chest.
I’m not going to lie, I think the paint job on this one is doing a lot of heavy lifting. It’s a good looking job and it’s helping to sell the sneakiness of this model. The camo on the cloak is a nice touch. And speaking of sneaky, this secret operator is going to be coming from Forge World. That does mean it’s going to be cast in resin.
Additional notes from GW are that there aren’t any alternate construction options for this one. That means no alternate head with an exposed face. This Consul keeps his helmet on.
