The bounty hunter and freedom fighter come to life in Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender live-action series.

For those unfamiliar with Avatar: The Last Airbender, the animated show debuted on Nickelodeon in 2005. Thanks to its amazing writing, it has won numerous awards and boasts a fan base spanning all age groups.

The show is set in a war-ravaged Asiatic and Arctic realm. The story unfolds in a world where specific individuals possess the ability to manipulate or “bend” one of the four fundamental elements: water, earth, fire, or air. Aang, the “Avatar,” holds the unique power to bend all these elements. He is fated to restore peace to the world, particularly from the threat of the Fire Nation.

Accompanied by his allies Katara, Sokka, and Toph, Aang embarks on a journey to master each element. However, their quest is complicated by the pursuit of Zuko, the banished prince of the Fire Nation. He is determined to capture the Avatar to redeem his honor.

Netflix is giving the beloved universe another chance at live-action, this time without M. Night Shyamalan.

On the other side of the conflict, Jet is the leader of the Freedom Fighters, a group of refugees from the Earth Kingdom. The Fire Nation’s firebenders killed his parents, and he has vowed revenge.
