Zach Tyler Eisen, the original voice of Aang, rejoins the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender in a star-studded Avatar: Legends actual play.

This one’s an actual play you can watch with the whole gaang. And, weirdly enough, we mean that more literally than you might think. Because Zach Tyler Eisen, aka the original voice actor for Aang, from Avatar: The Last Airbender, rejoins the Avatar-verse for the first time as part of an impressive live-streamed game of Avatar: Legends, the ATLA RPG. But it’s not just the original Aang.

Joining this stream, which benefits Extra Life, is a host of other amazing performers/players. Including Michaela Jill Murphy, the voice of Toph in ATLA, as well as Kaiji Tang from Berserk and Yakuza, Athena Palmer from the AEW, all GM’d by TJ Storm, whom you might recognize from games like Legends of Runeterra… or y’know, being Godzilla.

At any rate, the game premiered on IGN’s YouTube Channel in Lost Odyssey: Shadows of Destiny.

Aang Joins Lost Odyssey: Shadows of Destiny

If you’ve never played the Avatar: Legends roleplaying game before, this is a heck of a way to jump in. Lost Odyssey productions are often put together with big, spectacular casts, usually benefiting Extra Life. They’re the same folks who had Elijah Wood playing the Lord of the Rings RPG earlier this year. So, bringing the Avatar folks into the Avatar RPG really tracks for them.

Alongside the production, there’s also the Lost Odyseey Extra Life marketplace, where they sell the RPGs and related merchandise that ties into the show, with 100% of the proceeds from every sale going to Extra Life. You can find out more at Lost Odyssey Events.

In this adventure, the Shadows of Daoyang, the players will have to escape the wrath of the Fire Nation. Will they be able to? Almost certainly. But it’s going to be a ton of fun to watch them try. The chemistry is real. And it’s a great overview of the game. You’ll get to see it in action with some celebrities who are there to have a fantastic time.

Plus, this is Aang’s voice actor’s first return to the world of performing after having taken a big break. At least, that’s what the press release says. If you are looking to recapture some of the magic of Avatar: The Last Airbender, either in anticipation of the upcoming Live-Action show or just because it’s time for your 23rd rewatch, this is a great way to dive in and celebrate everything you love about Avatar.
