They’re round, they’re fast, and they’re full of aliens whose power level you can’t even begin to comprehend. We break down the Saiyan Attack Ball.
Streaking across the void of space, one can find metal spheres, barely large enough to hold a person or two (depending on how cozy they get). But though these pods may appear to be little more than balls with an engine, what’s inside makes all the difference. For these are Saiyan Attack Balls, or Saiyan Pods, or Round Ships depending on who you talk to.
They are heavily armored, are some of the fastest ships in the universe, and they carry some of its deadliest warriors. The vegetable-named aliens known as the Saiyans. The Saiyan Attack Balls have seen the subjugation of many a planet, and are surprisingly capable, despite their simplistic design.
Saiyan Attack Balls – Design And Capabilities
Saiyan Attack Balls are outfitted with incredible technology. Despite their small size, coming in at around five feet in diameter, a single Saiyan Pod houses a suite of advanced systems, including an environmental system capable of sustaining a traveler in suspended animation for up to six months at a time, as well as an extremely fast and efficient FTL drive.
Taken as a whole, a Saiyan Ball can travel for three years without needing to refuel. Every six months or so, one must enter a world with a breathable atmosphere for about ten minutes. But aside from this, their sleek design and small frame allows them to achieve incredible speeds.
A Saiayn Attack Ball’s FTL drive can cross even interstellar distances within a matter of days or hours. It takes only a few years to cross a galaxy at maximum speed. A feat few other ships can replicate. On top of this, as the name suggests, an Attack Ball has surprisingly resilient armor. Each craft is capable of surviving a high-impact landing on a planet, though this often has… detrimental effects on the planet.
Though these destructive impacts are often entirely part of the point, considering the purpose of the Attack Balls. Because though these ships’ primary purpose was transportation, the end result of that transportation was often conquest.
Saiyan Attack Balls – Serving Up Planets For The Highest Bidder
Saiyan Attack Balls were used by the Saiyans to send their warriors across great distances, often for one purpose, as the Saiyan Raditz put it:
“We Saiyans are sort of like planet brokers. We scoure space for planets that will bring a high price on the galactic market. Once we find them, we send our warriors there to purge them of any life and make them ready for sale. It’s a very, very profitable business, and we take great pride in being efficient in our work.”
And so it is that Saiyan Attack Balls were employed—often sending a single warrior to a distant world to see if they’d become powerful enough to take the planet over by force on their own. It was for this purpose that a lone Saiyan Attack Ball came to a remote planet known as Earth, bearing a Saiyan who would go on to become one of the universe’s mightiest warriors, Goku.
But that’s a saga for another time entirely.
