Pokémon Squishmallows: You Gotta Catch ‘Em All
Become a master in the softest and most cuddly way possible with the Pokémon Squishmallows line of adorable Pocket Monster friends.
Somehow Pokémon is still popular. Massively so. Which honestly, is awesome. My niece has the same favorite Pokémon as me, and we aren’t sure what to get anybody for a holiday or birthday, there’s always a pack of pokémon cards or two. And let’s be honest, we’ve all come to know Pokémon and master Ash Ketchum pretty well over the last twenty-eight years. So if you ever need a gift idea, or are just a fan of all things soft and snuggly, Squishmallow has a line of Pokémon just for you.
1. Pikachu
He’s the classic, he’s still Pokémon’s mascot, and he’s friend-shaped, Pikachu is the standard. There’s a good chance you know at least one out-of-touch parent who calls the whole franchise “Pikachu,” and despite his bonkers level of popularity, I don’t think I’ve met a single person who doesn’t love a Pikachu. Plus, at most holidays, there seems to be a small-themed Pikachu. Christmas just passed, but maybe there will be one with hearts pretty soon.
2. Snorlax
If you’re the sort of person who’s going to use a Squishmallow as a pillow, Snorlax may be the pick. This is the patron Pokémon of people who are sleepy all the time. Do these make good pillows? Honesty… ‘eh. My cat seems to think so, but my neck disagrees. Are these great for snuggling at bedtime? Oh yeah.
3. Togepi
Before Pokémon Go had us all running around town to hatch eggs, this pokémon just was an egg. It grows by absorbing the power of friendship and happiness and has attacks like, ‘Charm’ and “Yawn.’ Togepi didn’t need any help being cute, but now it comes extra soft. And as a bonus, this pokémon was already Squishmallow-shaped. If you were ever thinking of cosplaying Misty, this would be the easiest way to carry a Togepi around with you.
4. Piplup
Squishmallows don’t tend to look serious, but Pipulup looks like he’s got business to get on to. And it’s probably the business of Pokémon battle. Just look at him, he’s staring right into your soul. But in a cute, very snuggly way. Coming from gen five, Pipulup is also one of the few not-gen-one pokémon in the collection along with Togepi.
5. Gengar
Gengar is sort of Pokémon‘s other mascot after Pikachu. I’m not sure when this ghost type got so popular, but you’re almost as likely to find merch for him as any of the original starters- and I don’t see a Gen-1 starter Bulbasaur squishmallow! I’d have bought it! Is Gengar your favorite? Because this one is perfect for hugs. Also, at 25cm, it’s a bit smaller than the other Pokémon Squishmallows, making it adorably travel size, as well.
Oh hey! BoLS might make a little dolla-dolla if you decide to buy these items. We need that money to buy master balls and potions. Like an absurd number of potions. More potions than we’ll ever need for our remaining Pokémon battles.
