Baldur’s Gate 3‘s Drow companion, Minthara, has a lust for life, and the player character, which keeps one particular speedrun possible.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is popular among speedrunners because of the breadth of possibilities available to it. After all, there’s the race to complete the game, to complete the game in Honour Mode, and of course, the infamous Sex% Speedrun. As the name suggests, it’s a race to see how fast your Illithid-enhanced adventurer can get into the pants of one of the other companions floating around out there.

But a new patch took some of the wind out of those sails, making the previous Sex% Speedrun’s target, Lae’Zel, demand you prove your worth. However, as the reining champion in this category, and an astounding all-around Speedrunner, Mae, has put it, the Baldur’s Gate 3 community is “not so easily deterred.”

And thanks to some surprising antics, notably a combination of two potent but 1st level spells, and the eagerness of the Drow known as Minthara to, uh, celebrate after victory, the Sex Speedrun category is saved.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Speedrunner Finds Justice, Sex with Evil Drow

In a video titled Baldur’s Gate 3 Sex% Speedrun, speedrunner Mae shows that it’s possible to get your adventurer through most of the first part of the game surprisingly fast. In just 4 minutes and 17 seconds, she not only manages to have a fling with the Drow Paladin, Minthara, Mae’s character, fittingly named JusticeForSex% manages to escape the Nautiloid, defeat the Druid’s Grove, and mop up a good chunk of Act 1 all in one go.

At the heart of it is a combination of two spells: Jump and Feather Fall which increases your jumping distance and negates falling damage, allowing Justice to quickly leap around encounters that are unskippable for mere mortals. Justice leaps her way to the heart of the goblin fortress, and then jumps to Minthara’s side, literally, setting off an invasion.

And then she steals the Idol of Sylvanas, which showcases the true mindless hatred at the heart of the Druid Grove. Because, with their idol stolen, even with enemies literally at their gate, the Druids then turn on the Tieflings and allow themselves to be slaughtered by Minthara’s army. The whole battle is skipped via a long rest!

Of course, showing that the Sex% speedrun is alive and well isn’t the only big contribution to the speedrunning community Mae has made in the last week. Four days prior, she broke the world record for Honour Mode completion, finishing the game in 21 minutes, 17 seconds.

Spoilers ahoy, but it is worth a watch.

At any rate, it took me much longer than both of those videos combined to make it past the character creation screen.
