Age of Sigmar: Sekhar, Fang of Nulahmia Is A Dangerous Opponent
How good is Sekhar, Fang of Nulahmia on the tabletop? With her warscroll available we’re taking a closer look to find out.
With the Fangs of the Blood Queen coming soon the Soulblight Gravelords are getting a new character. To celebrate, Games Workshop dropped the new warscroll for Sekhar, Fang of Nulahmia. Clocking in at 160 points we’re wondering if she’s worth taking. Let’s get to the warscroll to find out.
Stat-wise, Sekhar is slightly above a typical infantry character. She’s got 7 wounds with a 4+ save along with a 6″ move and 10 Bravery. Nothing crazy, but that 7th wound is kind of handy. Plus she’s got Serpentine Agility which makes so that only natural 5s and 6s score a hit. Sekhar is also a Wizard that can sling 2 spells a turn and unbind 2 as well. That’s actually pretty spicy considering her martial prowess, too.
Speaking of which her melee weapons are nothing to scoff at. The Nulahmian Warglaive has 4 attacks with a 3+/3+ profile that are each -1 rend and 2 damage. Following that up, she’s also got Ouboroth’s 2 attacks that hit and wound the same but have an additional point of rend and also 2 damage. She’s sitting on a potential 12 damage right there.
Sekhar can also opt to trade out her Serpentine Agility for a deadly once per battle ability. The Time-Swallower’s Maw impacts enemy units within 6″ of her. You roll 2D6 and compare the roll to their movement stat. The unit then takes a number of mortal wounds for each point they are lower than the roll. Against slower moving units this could really be deadly. Even against a block of low-model infantry you could potentially pull quite a few of them on a good roll.
Her final ability is her signature spell Death’s Construction. This is a weird spell but basically it helps protect your units from a target enemy unit’s spells, prayers, abilities or shooting attacks. The sheer versatility of this spell makes it handy.
So is Sekhar worth taking? For 160 points she’s certainly not a bad character to add to a Soulblight Gravelords army. At the end of the day, she’s a wizard who can actually fight in combat, too. With access to the spell lore from Soulblight Gravelords and also her own spell, I’m sure there’s some good use for this character. Additionally, even if you’re not playing Soulblight Gravelords you can take her in a Death army thanks to her Regiment of Renown.
You first crack at picking her up is with the Fangs of the Blood Queen box coming to pre-order this weekend.
Protect your neck around Sekhar!
