This ‘X-Men’ Rogue Closet Cosplay is Untouchable

There are few shows from childhood that were as popular as X-Men: The Animated Series. It was my first introduction to comic books and to characters that felt as misfit as I did. Rogue always stood out to me, with her inner strength and her fiery love with Gambit.
Rogue is a red-haired woman known for her accent and her ability to copy the powers of any mutant she touches. Her uniform is a vivid green and yellow jumpsuit with matching gloves, thigh-high boots, and a gorgeous bomber jacket. In the era of athleisure-wear, a closet cosplay for Rogue is quite a fun prospect. Lets dig in!
Rogue Closet Cosplay: The Top
This might (ok, it is) be going overboard, but I’m a stickler for clean lines and as few wrinkles as possible. My thinking here is if you go full bodysuit underneath, you’ll have clean lines and no bunching on the top and waist. Clean lines make a superhero! I’d definitely try to find one that’s shorter without the full legs.
Rogue Cosplay: The Leggings
I think these are unique and stunning. The beautiful angled layering of the waistline makes for a great transition into the top. Leggings will fit great under the boots and provide clean transitions all around. Bonus points if you find leggings with pockets, because… POCKETS.
Rogue Closet Cosplay: The Boots
I’ve never been a fan of yellow, but these boots are fantastic. Clean lines, a strong color that isn’t abrasive, and a comfortable heel make the perfect combo. All someone needs to do is kick all the ass and look fabulous doing it!
Rogue Cosplay: The Jacket
A bomber jacket is a VERY personal wardrobe choice, so choose carefully. It’s all about the cut and feel. This layer could be left off and still stand out as Rogue, but it adds one hell of a flair. And more pockets!
Rogue Closet Cosplay: The Gloves
Rogue’s iconic accessory is her gloves. To protect others from the power of her power-stealing touch, she seals her skin off from the world. Gloves are meant to be personalized and comfortable, so take your time picking the right ones.
Rogue Cosplay: The Streak
It wouldn’t be a Rogue cosplay without her iconic grey streak. There are tons of washable hair dyes and sprays, but if you want something that will last a little longer, there’s no better semi-permanent color on the market than Good Dye Young, and they make the perfect shade for this. Enjoy!
