Look, Avatar: Legends, aka the Avatar RPG has what no other RPG does: an entire sourcebook dedicated to the Dragon of the West, Uncle Iroh.

Avatar Legends is one of our favorite RPGs here at BoLS. With its blend of Powered by the Apocalypse mechanics that makes for flexible characters that can bend elements as well as struggle internally, it’s a ton of fun to play. It’s also the only ttrpg out there to feature the Dragon of the West, Uncle Iroh, on the cover of his very own splatbook.

While WotC may wish that they had characters as universally beloved as the former Fire Nation general who once broke through the walls of the impenetrable city of Ba Sing Se, only to lose his son and find his soul, there’s really no comparing. I’m sorry “Bigby” and “Tasha” and “Mordenkainen” you’re all a bunch of squares who never made anyone cry just by singing this song:

Now that we’re all tearbending, here’s a look at the actual splatbook, Uncle Iroh’s Adventure Guide.

In this book, you get new playbooks, including the Bound, the Broken, the Authority, and the Architect. The Bound, for instance, is a bit like Aang after he accepts his role as the Avatar. Once he embraces his destiny, he is Bound to it.

You’ll also find examples of how to play in stories that span years or even whole different eras. The five adventures string together as a centuries-long campaign. All of which you can find inside Uncle Iroh’s Adventure Guide for the Avatar RPG.
