Vecna: Eve of Ruin gets the full Beadle & Grimms treatment with a swanky Platinum Edition coming later this year. Check it out!

With Vecna poised to change the cosmos forever, one way or another, purveyors of luxe campaign supplements Beadle & Grimm are back with another big box for an upcoming adventure. Vecna: Eve of Ruin gets the Platinum Edition treatment, with a campaign supplement full of notes, letters handouts, minis, jewelry, and more.

If you’ve never seen one of these before, a B&G Platinum box is a limited-edition adventure in a box. They usually give you everything you need to run the adventure, with minis for the encounters courtesy of WizKids, battle maps lovingly pre-rendered on their own sheets, and everything collected so you can just grab what you need as you play.

This one is due for pre-order in March, so let’s check it out.

Vecna: Eve of Ruin – Platinum Edition

Here’s a look at the announcement, first off:

It’s been a long time since the Production Goblins have disabled the spring traps, the dart traps, and the glyphs of warding, and gone into the Pandemonium Vault to retrieve that most coveted of product materials—the platinum ingots used to make the rarest of rare products: Beadle & Grimm’s Platinum Editions.

But the wait is over, the vault is open (with minimal casualties), and the goblins are already hard at work to create the next exclusive Platinum Edition for Vecna: Eve of Ruin from Dungeons & Dragons.

Vecna: Eve of Ruin is a high-stakes Dungeons & Dragons adventure for characters of levels 10–20 in which the fate of the multiverse hangs in the balance. This climactic adventure will whisk you and your players across the multiverse, from the Forgotten Realms to Eberron, Dragonlance, Planescape, Greyhawk, and more, as they track down the means of thwarting the Whispered One.

Now, in that very post, B&G says that contents are still being finalized. So there’s no saying for certain what’s in the mix for the Vecna: Eve of Ruin Platinum Edition. If previous Platinum Editions are anything to go by, however, you can expect almost any important note or piece of “in-game” written text to be recreated.

You’ll probably get a few wearable trinkets. I wouldn’t be too surprised to see something related to the three archmages that play into the plot of Eve of Ruin, or maybe some recreation of the Eye of Vecna. And, typically, these boxes also feature a bonus adventure designed to fit right into the existing adventure somewhere, to expand the fun a little.

You’ll also find cards featuring the important monsters that can hang over the DM Screen, with artwork on the player-facing side and relevant combat stats facing the DM.

All in all, there’s a lot in one of these boxes that can level up your in-person game. So if you play face-to-face, this might be worth grabbing for your group.
