Games Workshop Rumor Engine: ‘Fancy Axe’
Someone’s got an axe(head) to grind in the latest Rumor Engine from Games Workshop. It just so happens to be one fancy looking axe!
Welcome to a new Tuesday Rumor Engine from Games Workshop. This week we’re getting a look at an axe. But this is clearly a special axe. Don’t believe me? You should take a closer look for yourself.
“It has come to our attention that the Rumour Engine has been performing sub-optimally at grasping the attention of the Warhammer community, and needs a change in work ethic. We heard that you enjoy ‘themes’, and ‘consistency’, so this month we’re trying a new tack: every image you see will be of a weapon.
That should make it much easier for you to guess what things are, right? We want to see some correct guesses this time, let’s go!”
Rumor Engine Fancy Axe
So, at least according to the text, we’ve got a weapon — and it’s an axe. It goes on to ask the real question that we’re all wondering which is “who’s holding this axe?” That could be a lot of different folks and trying to figure that out is the fun part.
My first thought was Fyreslayers. They like their axes after all. However, I don’t know if this axe fits their style. While both styles have some fancy filigree, this Rumor Engine has a nice large gem in the middle.
Their old school kin are the Ironbreakers. Perhaps it could be one of them. But that would mean a new kit for them. Is that out of the question? Or maybe they are going Old World with this teaser.
One question I do have is what’s going on with that haft. The area circled is quite different than most other axes. If you recognize it drop us a hint in the comments for sure.
Now, it may be a long shot, but let’s not rule out the 40k/30k side of the house either. Some of those Grimdark weapons can get pretty ornate, too. I don’t see any power cables this time but who knows?!
So this is where you come in. If you’ve got any ideas who is wielding this axe drop us a line and let us know what you think! This one is definitely up in the air.
It’s an AXE. At least we got that much right.
