The ‘Final Fantasy XIV’ TTRPG Is Due Out Next Month
Last year, Square-Enix announced a new Final Fantasy XIV TTRPG coming in 2024. Well, now, it seems the time is almost here, with the release expected in May!
Oh, how exciting it was last year when Square-Enix accidentally unveiled the Final Fantasy XIV tabletop roleplaying game and the pre-order page. Though the news was only up for about six hours, that’s basically an eternity in internet time. This means that, not long after it was taken down, Square-Enix just went ahead and announced the RPG, due to come out at some unspecified time in 2024.
Well, it seems that time is getting closer. So, dust off the old meme about how you can play the free trial with no restrictions on playtime. Soon, that’s going to be very true, as the Final Fantasy XIV tabletop RPG starter set looks like it’ll be launching in May!
Armored Chocobos Charge!
Final Fantasy XIV Official TTRPG Starter Set
Based on the hit MMO Final Fantasy XIV, the FFXIV TTRPG is a tabletop roleplaying game that lets you experience Eorzea from a whole new perspective. Step into the shoes of a heroic adventurer or assume the game master’s mantle, then cooperate to forge your own unique stories within the vast and exciting universe of Final Fantasy XIV.
The Final Fantasy XIV TTRPG Starter Set comes with everything you need to dive into the game and includes both the Player Book and the Gamemaster Book.
Gather your friends together to explore, battle, and roleplay–the only limits are your imagination, and the only goal is to have fun. Discover a realm of adventure reborn!
The starter set comes with both a player book and a gamemaster book, including three ready-to-run scenarios that are supposed to tie directly into the main storyline of Final Fantasy XIV. This is extremely exciting, considering how far Final Fantasy XIV has come, even in the last year.
The new beginner-friendly box will come with four pre-generated characters. You’ll be able to play a Warrior, White Mage, Dragoon, and/or Black Mage. As you can see in the photos, there are six special d20s and a handful (ten) d6s.
Alongside that, new encounter maps, tokens, and other useful aids to play the game. With a release date of “May 2024” at press time, it looks like the critically acclaimed Final Fantasy XIV is coming much sooner than we thought!
Eorzea awaits, adventurer.
