The Replicant Rebellion Kickstarter might be winding down, but your work with the Replicant Underground is just about to begin.

Inside the neon-drenched, rain-streaked world of Blade Runner, you have to ask the big questions. What does it mean to be human? What does it mean to really live? At the heart of these questions is the tension between Replicants and the people who created them.

That’s what makes the setting so compelling. Why it endures, years after the original movie and its amazing sequel. But the movies only show one corner of the world. There’s so much more to explore. And in the Blade Runner RPG, you often get a chance to do just that.

But have you ever wanted to fight for the Replicants? To help those whose visions of wonder, like attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion, or C-Beams glittering in the dark near the Tannhauser gate, might be lost in time, like tears in rain?

A new expansion for the Blade Runner RPG gives you the chance to find out. In Replicant Rebellion, players take on the role of rebels and provocateurs. Switching sides, sort of, to be a part of the Replicant Underground. As part of the Rebellion, they’ll be on the run from Blade Runners and have to work in the shadows of the cities.

The Kickstarter for this book ends perishingly soon. There’s two whole days left, and then that’s it.

Blade Runner RPG: Replicant Rebellion

In the Kickstarter campaign, you get a pretty good idea of what’s inside the book:

Replicant Rebellion massively expands the scope of the critically acclaimed tabletop RPG, recruiting players to join the ranks of the Replicant Underground in Los Angeles 2037. Set at the same time and place as the Core Rulebook, players explore this neon-noir cityscape from the opposite perspective – now running from Blade Runners in an evocative cat & mouse race of provocateurs and powder kegs lit to explode, expose, and oppose the establishment, one way or another.

For the Rebellion, players will run their own independent crew who must undertake a variety of operations, all while attempting to maintain their cover and keep their records clean. Are they helping fugitive Replicants evade capture? Sabotaging the Replicant trade? Grappling with the cops, courts, and megacorps? Clashing with warring crews and syndicates? Smoking out moles in your midst?

In this big city of dazzling lights and moral contradictions, Replicant Rebellion flips the famous script of the beloved Blade Runner universe and dares you to explore how much you’re willing to lose for a cause that’s sacrificing it all. Yet regardless the price, the Rebellion must live on.

I mean, what more do you want out of a Blade Runner story? The new expansion will “flip the script,” as they say. In Replicant Rebellion, there will be a whole suite of new player options. The most exciting stuff seems to revolve around the “underground” part of the Replicant Underground.

With new Player Archetypes, there’ll be a lot to play with. You can see the Street Rat above. Alongside those, new mechanics for evading the authorities, like maintaining a cover identity or dealing with increased Heat as the law closes in.

Free League also promises several complete “Operations” (their word for adventures) to help illustrate what a campaign should feel like. And in the final hours, players have unlocked a new Solo Mode as `well. You can see for yourself in the Kickstarter campaign, linked below.
