Warhammer 40K: New Blood Angel Reveals – Sanguinor & Sanguinary Guard Get New Miniatures
There’s more Blood Angels on the horizon. The Sanguinor and Sanguinary Guard are getting new kits for Warhammer 40,000!
It’s going to be a golden explosion for the Blood Angels as these two units are both getting big glow-ups. The Sanguinor is getting a new look and certainly appears to have gotten a Primaris upgrade. That’s a rather interesting detail is that jump pack however. It looks like a combination of newer styles but also seems like a nod to the Heresy-era jump packs, too. But before we go speculating, let’s check out these new miniatures!
“The most elite of Sanguinius’ sons take flight, led by a resplendent saviour with a divine visage.”
The Sanguinor
This is a good case of “don’t mess with a classic” but still updated. The new miniature clearly takes inspiration previous version and just updates the scale.
The new miniature looks a lot more towering that the old one. Clearly the new Sanguinor has gotten a new base size to match the updated look, too. While the pose is basically identical the extras (the wings and the honor scrolls) help to give this model more volume and feel larger than than before.
The Sanguinary Guard
“Tracing their heritage back to the Great Crusade, the Sanguinary Guard are the Chapter’s most elite warriors. Their dwindling supply of relic armour, Angelus boltguns, and unmistakable death masks have been retrofitted to work with new Tacticus Mark X armour.”
The Sanguinary Guard are also getting a new kit. This is good timing as it matches up with the Sanguinary Priest update. All of them are now Primaris-sized and have gotten new looks and poses. You can build them with or without Helmets as well.
As a Blood Angels fan myself, I’m glad to see the new kits. I like the new look and scale of these miniatures. My one complaint is they are looking a bit like the new Stormcast Eternals Prosecutors with those spears…
In any case it a new kit with some new looks and options. And yes, those spears are new.
“All three Sanguinary Guard have construction options, including bare or helmed heads, and the choice of elegant encarmine blades or new encarmine spears – one of which can be given a banner to fly high in combat.”
From the sound of things it does appear that the new unit will have three miniatures in it now. I wonder what that means for them in terms of upgrades and stats/rules…
The Blood Angels are getting a new codex and batch of miniatures soon!
