Warhammer 40K Next Week: Blood Angels Army Set and just so many Imperialis Tanks
The Blood Angels are dropping in as part of next week’s preorders, with some incredible new minis, a box set, and of course, a new codex.
Games Workshop must be feeling genial and sanguine this week, because the new Blood Angels are here. These definitely-not-space-vampires may be a little thirsty from time to time, but that’s only a few of them. And they’re all true champions of the Imperium. Especially the new look for some of the Blood Angels’ grimmest heroes.
Alongside the Blood Angels come legions of tiny tanks. Legions Imperialis, that is. Swarms of tiny tanks for all your needs. Even some tanks that are actually drills.
This and more as part of next week’s pre-orders!
Blood Angels Dropping In
The new Blood Angels army set is ready to show off the Death Company. Inside are 10 Jump Pack Intercessors, 10 Assault Intercessors, and a Brutalis Dreadnought. Each of these can be kitted out with the four new Blood Angels upgrade kits inside, which will also allow you to turn your troops into Death Company Marines, thanks to new Death Company pieces for Mk X Tacticus armor, vehicle icons, and more.
And you’ll probably want to, because the box comes with a new Astorath the Grim and Lemartes, Guardian of the Lost. Don’t they look just angelic or at least bloody in their new plastic miniature form.
You’ll want rules to play with your new toys. And rules you shall have. In the Codex Supplement: Blood Angels, you’ll get all the datasheets you need, as well as three Detachments and a new Sanguinary Guard combat patrol.
Tanks for the Legions, Imperialis
Legions Imperialis continues to be where the vast majority of the Imperium’s vehicles are deployed. And you can add some of them to your epic armies with new tank and tank-like vehicle kits due out next week. Starting with the Legion Sabre Strike Tank Squadron, that comes with eight rapid moving Legion Sabre Strike Tanks that can be kitted out with anvilus autocannons or neutron blasters and heavy bolter or multi-melta on the hull.
Did you know that Genestealer Cults weren’t the first to use combat drills? The Legiones Astartes would often need to assault fortifications from the most unexpected direction: below. Nobody expects you to come up into their base. And the Termite Assault Drill is a heavy transport that is full of shock troops, whether Loyalist or Traitorous.
Finally, the Leman Russ Exterminator and Annihilator Squadron gives you two more variants for the most common tank in the Imperium. The Exterminator comes with paired autocannons for maximum anti-infantry firepower, while the Annihilator unleashes a twin-linked Lascannon on heavy armor.
All this, next week!
